L’opera rappresenta il rapporto tra paura e spazio domestico, tra animale domestico e rifugio. Il coccodrillo animale di acqua e di terra ne fa il simbolo delle contraddizioni.
Sono molte le funzioni che la tradizione gli attribuisce nelle vicende divine, come simbolo della malvagità, simbolo della terra e fecondità, signore dei mondi sotterranei. In Domestic Fears l’ambiente domestico diventa riparo delle nostre paure, lasciando spazio alle proprie fantasie ed emozioni; Allo stesso modo le nostre paure affiorano in superficie diventando il nostro animale domestico. Quest’opera compone un ambiente artistico del quale l’artista è solo demiurgo il cui suo intento è indurre i visitatori a trovare il proprio rifugio. Quest’opera è dedicata alla situazione geopolitica degli ultimi tempi.
This installation represents the relationship between fear and domestic space, between pet and shelter. A crocodile, animal of water and land represent the symbol of contradictions. There are many functions that tradition attributes him in the divine events, as a symbol of wickedness, symbol of the earth and fertility, lord of the underground worlds. In Domestic Fears, the home environment becomes a shelter of our fears, leaving room for our fantasies and emotions; In the same way our fears emerge on the surface to become our pet. This work composes an artistic environment of which the artist is only a demiurge whose intent is to induce visitors to find their shelter. This installation is dedicated to the geopolitical situation we’re currently living in.
