Il Canto delle Balene, 2016
Con questo lavoro Pietro vuole raccontare la storia di un mammifero, di una creatura mistica che ha stimolato il nostro immaginario collettivo sin da bambini. Ugualmente il carosello è il simbolo del gioco, del suono, della musica, e guardando le balene, nella loro conformazione, nell'atto di saltare e girare in cerchio è come se emettessero un canto.
Stimolato dai materiali e dalle tecniche di lavorazione, Pietro Russo ha deciso di realizzare un prodotto che incontrasse il sapere artigiano di Ernesto ed Ambrogio Carati unito alla sua personale esperienza di modellatore nelle arti plastiche.
Da questo incontro nasce Il canto delle balene, un carosello centrotavola con la funzione di portafrutta che nel nostro immaginario sarà danzante e sonoro.
With this work Pietro wants to tell the story of a mammal, a mystical creature that has stimulated our collective imagination since we were children. Likewise, the carousel is the symbol of play, sound, music, and looking at the whales, in their conformation, in the act of jumping and turning in a circle, it is as if they were emitting a song. Stimulated by materials and processing techniques, Pietro Russo decided to create a product that would meet the artisan knowledge of Ernesto and Ambrogio Carati combined with his personal experience as a modeler in the plastic arts. The song of the whales was born from this meeting, a centerpiece carousel with the function of a fruit bowl that in our imagination will be dancing and sound.
